Deadmau5 is working on First Person Shooter game
Joel Zimmerman who is professionally
known as 'Deadmau5' is apparently making a first-person shooter game. We all
must have heard the music produced by the Canadian record producer who is also
a DJ, musician and composer, and kind of have an idea how well the music is
produced by him.
Now, it is being reported that the
game was teased by the electronic music artist on Twitch, where the Canadian
record producer streamed gameplay which Dedmau5 describes as 'alpha testing'
stage. The early alpha status of the project is quite noticeable in the stream,
as the users can see just a bare-bones infrastructure of the map, with no real
texturing anywhere apart from the gun Deadmau5 is using in the video.
As per some reports from the web,
from the first look of the game, the map seems similar to what the
Counter-Strike players would call a gun-game map, or it could be an aim map as
well. In a barebones state the game is pretty straightforward, however, the
Deadmau5 along with his team turns could turn it into something great from
here, however, at the moment all we can do is wait and watch.
Further, the reports suggest that
for the Easter eggs, there is a huge Deadmau5 figure which is towering over the
map, which almost looks like as if it is looking down on the players and judges
their performance on the battlefield.
Zimmerman aka Deadmau5 has asked his
fans to keep some patience and has also asked them to consider the game as a
'pet-project' as of now. Although Zimmerman has claimed that it is not a solo
project and that his fans should wait for a year at least before anything solid
could be shared with the users
Zimmerman took it to Reddit to
further explain the current state of the project in a bit more detail by
informing people that the game is being built on Unreal Engine, by taking the
help from a team of experienced Unreal developers. As per Zimmerman's statement
from Reddit, 'We're just setting up some basic mechanics, getting a space
together where we can jam out in an arena of sorts and spitball ideas... once
we've agreed on that and nailed in network code and sever delegation, we head
down the 'fun and original secondary objective' route.' It would be interesting
to see how well the game will turn out to be considering the fact that the
music composed by Deadmau5 also attracts a number of listeners.
