Apple's latest iOS 11.1.1 update fixes autocorrect bug

The latest iOS 11.1.1 update fixes the autocorrect 'i'bug that some users were experiencing on their iPhones and iPads.
Apple's iOS 11 update hasn't seen a peaceful life in its first two months of existence. The operating system that powers premium iPhones and iPads around the world has been riddled with a huge number of annoying bugs. One of those annoying bugs was the auto-correction of the letter 'i' into the characters 'A' and a question mark. Apple's latest update has fixed that bug.
Apple was aware of the issue and until it figured out a fix for the problem, they had issued a temporary workaround for this issue.
They asked users to set up a text replacement for the letter 'i' from the keyboard settings. Apple, however, promises that the latest iOS 11.1.1 update has fixed the issue and users need not worry about this problem.
The update also fixes an issue where the 'Hey Siri' call sign stopped working for some iPhone users. This issue was present on all iPhones starting from the iPhone SE and going up to the iPhone X. If you haven't updated your iOS device yet, then head over to Software Update from Settings. You can also update the same from iTunes.

Children's popular characters in inappropriate videos to be banned: YouTube
The ban will be implemented in YouTube and YouTube Kids app.
YouTube is a place where all sorts of content exist - positive, encouraging, funny and disturbing as well. The Google-owned company has been on its toes to filter content on the platform and it is making sure that the young generation also gets to enjoy quality content without any sort of negative vibes.
In the coming days, YouTube will be flagging content that shows popular children's characters in disturbing ways. They said that "inappropriate use of family entertainment characters" would be restricted to adult accounts, i.e. accounts belonging to users aged 18 when they are reported by users.
Such content will also be removed from the YouTube Kids app, which caters to children with a limited collection of suitable content. YouTube will also block such videos for those users using YouTube without logging in.
"Earlier this year, we updated our policies to make content featuring the inappropriate use of family entertainment characters ineligible for monetisation," YouTube's director of policy Juniper Downs said in an interview with The Telegraph. "We're in the process of implementing a new policy that age restricts this content in the YouTube main app when flagged. Age-restricted content is automatically not allowed in YouTube Kids. The YouTube team is made up of parents who are committed to improving our apps and getting this right."

iPhone X's Screen Goes Kaput in Cold Weather, Apple Promises Fix
After admitting that the iPhone X can temporarily lose touch functionality in cold weather conditions, Apple is reportedly planning a software update to fix the issue.
"It appears the 'cold gate' problem with iPhone X was happening at temperatures close to zero degrees but still within the recommended temperature range," 9to5Mac reported late on 9 November.
Some iPhone X users had complained last week about their phone screen not working in cold temperatures.
"In certain conditions, the iPhone X will temporarily be unable to respond to user input if the temperature of the surrounding environment suddenly dropped," the report quoted Apple as saying.
The iPhone maker said it will issue a fix in an upcoming software update as it does not appear to be an inherent hardware fault.
The Cupertino-based giant has so far released several updates for iOS 11, including iOS 11.1.
The company has not specified an exact time-frame for the "cold gate" bug-fix but it is most likely to be rolled into iOS 11.2.
iOS 11.2 update is currently being tested in beta programme and will be the first major update to bring a new feature named Apple "Pay Cash".

IBM in race to top quantum computing
IBM has announced a milestone in its race against Google and other big tech firms to build a powerful quantum computer.
Dario Gil, who leads IBM's quantum computing and artificial intelligence research division, said Friday that the company's scientists have successfully built and measured a processor prototype with 50 quantum bits, known as qubits.
Gil says it's the first time any company has built a quantum computer at this scale.
Quantum computing, a technology that's still in its early phases, uses the quirks of quantum physics to perform calculations at far higher speeds than current computers.

Bending iPhones is now a thing of the past; iPhone X doesn't break
A few years ago, YouTube filled up with hundreds of videos showing iPhones bending and eventually breaking into two pieces. While no person in their right mind would want to do so, it is satisfying to know that your precious investment can undergo some rough torture if the situation demands. Therefore, every flagship smartphone has undergone the bend test to see the amount of pressure it can handle. The current talk of the town - the iPhone X, has also undergone the test and has come out with flying colours.Everything ApplePro has done an extensive scratch and bend test of the iPhone X.
They put the ultra expensive iPhone to rub its nose with items that you may or may not stuff in your pocket - stuff like screwdrivers, nails and coins - things that a 'usual' iPhone X owner might not keep in his/her pocket. Nonetheless, in the interest of science, the iPhone X is put to test and it performs on par with other flagship smartphones. The iPhone X may get scratched with car keys and anything more harder than that.
When it comes to the bend test, the iPhone X exceeds expectations. The previous generation iPhone 7 and the iPhone 6S were known to break into two under some considerable amount of pressure. However, all the iPhone X does is pop the edges of its sealings holding the display and the metal frame. The stainless steel frame only breaks at the point of the antenna lines. Despite that, the iPhone X keeps on working as it is intended to be.
Clearly, Apple wasn't kidding when they said that the iPhone X is durable. The jump from aluminium alloy to stainless steel has made the iPhone stand head to head with other durable flagships. If you were remotely worried about the iPhone X's durability, then you can take a sigh of relief and use it carefree.
