When are the new Nokia smartphones launching in India?
MWC 2018 is underway and HMD Global
announced five new Nokia mobiles - Nokia 8 Sirocco, Nokia 7 Plus, Nokia 6
(2018) (Android One smartphones), Nokia 1 (Android Go device), and Nokia 8110
4G feature phone. The company has revealed everything about the devices
including the international pricing for the handsets.
However, the thing that would be of
interest to us is knowing about the India launch dates and at what price the new
Nokia devices will be arriving in the country. While the company is yet to
announce the details officially we have some information about the possible
launch dates.
Ajey Mehta, Vice President India,
HMD Global in an exclusive interview with Gadgets 360 has revealed the launch
schedule of the latest Nokia mobiles for India. All this happened on the
sidelines of the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona.
According to the publication, the
first device that will be arriving in India will be the Nokia 1 and according
to the executive the handset will be released in April. Some reports about this
smartphone also appeared earlier which suggested the same timeline for the
launch. Additionally, the reports had stated that the device might cost around
Rs. 5,000.
Going by the report the second
device that will make its entry into the market will be the improved Nokia 6
(2018). But the publication notes that there could be only one variant - the
3GB RAM/ 32GB storage that will be first introduced in the country. According
to Mehta, the other variant could be launched around end-May/ June.
Talking about the new Nokia 8
Sirocco device, it is said to come sometime in May in India. Nokia 7 Plus is
also expected to be launched by May end or starting of June. And finally the
latest feature phone from Nokia the 8110 will reportedly launch sometime in Q3
around July 2018 or later.
MWC 2018: Lenovo exhibits 100e, 300e & 500e
Chromebooks
In the recent events held at CES
2018Lenovo introduced three new Chromebooks the 100e, 300e, and 500e Chromebooks.
Now following the MWC event, Lenovo has once again exhibited these three new
Chromebooks along with its availability information. The Lenovo 300e and 500e
Chromebooks are available for sale in the US. A user can purchase the devices
from Lenovo's online store and start from $349(Rs. 22,603.51 approx.) and
$279(approximate 16126.86) respectively. While the Lenovo 100e Chromebook is
going to be available from March will be priced at $219 (approx 14183.86). The
Chromebooks will soon be available at third-party retailers for sale in the US,
UK, along with Australia, Brazil, Germany, Italy, and Spain.
All the three Chromebooks are
designed to serve various consumer needs. The 100e is designed as an affordable
option when compared to the 300e and 500e both of them features premium design
characteristics. Both the 300e and 500e models of Chromebook feature a 2-in-1
design which can be used in multiple positions including a tablet mode.On the
other hand, the 100e features more of a traditional laptop-designed Chromebook.
However, all three models primarily emphasize on durability including a robust
design in general. It also features rubber bumpers, reinforced elements along
with a spill-resistant keyboard. Lenovo has designed the Chromebook with a
touch-first experience in mind. All the three models offer a premium touch
experience when used with Android apps. The 300e and 500e use Google-provided
code that offers a near lag-free writing and sketching experience.
When we talk about the specs all
three models feature 4GB RAM, and 32 GB storage, however, the 500e model would
also be available with 8GB RAM and/or 64GB storage. The 100e is powered by an
Intel Celeron N3350 whereas the 300e is powered by a MediaTek MTK 8173C, and the
500e powered by an Intel Celeron N3450. All three, however, is claimed to offer
up to 10 hours of battery life, and all three includes an 11.6-inch display
along with a 1366 x 768 resolution. The displays on the 300e and 500e models
are IPS displays whereas the 100e uses a TN display.
